There is no point aiming for 19 °C: each additional degree of cooling increases consumption by around 5 to 8 %. The experts' recommendation is clear:

• Aim for a set temperature of 26 to 27 °C.
• Do not exceed a gap of 7 to 8 °C with the outdoor temperature, for the sake of your comfort and your health.

Too large a gap causes an unpleasant thermal shock every time you step outside, and pushes up your bill needlessly.

Good daily habits

• Close shutters and windows during hot hours; open them at night to cool the home naturally.
• Only cool the rooms in use and close the doors of the cooled rooms.
• Clean the filters regularly: a clogged filter reduces performance and air quality.
• Use the automatic or eco mode, often more economical than running at full power.
