Published in the French Journal officiel on 5 July 2026, the decree of 2 July 2026 establishes the first official list of approved heat pumps. The goal: to reserve the most generous bonuses for quality equipment manufactured in Europe. From 1 September 2026, the “Coup de pouce chauffage” (heating boost) bonus will be multiplied by five for these models. Here is what it means for your project.
What the decree of 2 July 2026 says
The decree introduces a prior approval of heat pump models in order to qualify for the enhanced CEE (Energy Savings Certificates) bonuses. It is no longer enough for a unit to be efficient: it must now appear on an official list validated by ADEME (the French environment agency).
To be approved, a model must meet two cumulative requirements:
- A recognised quality certification (Heat Pump KEYMARK, NF PAC, Eurovent or equivalent), issued by an accredited body.
- European manufacturing: the final assembly of the refrigerant circuit must be carried out within the European Economic Area — entirely for monobloc units, at least one sub-assembly for split units.
Brands such as Daikin, Atlantic, Ariston, Bosch and Chappée are already among the first approved models.

The “Coup de pouce chauffage” bonus ×5
This is the heart of the reform. From 1 September 2026, the “Coup de pouce chauffage” bonus applies a ×5 coefficient to the base amount of the Energy Savings Certificates (CEE), under two cumulative conditions:
- installing an approved model (listed as of the quote date);
- it must be an air-to-water or water-to-water heat pump, installed to replace a coal, oil or gas boiler, in a primary residence.
warning
Air-to-air air conditioners and heat pumps are not eligible for the “Coup de pouce chauffage”. This bonus targets the replacement of a fossil-fuel heating system with an air-to-water or water-to-water heat pump.
A living list, updated every month
The official list of approved models is published on the bonus-pac.ademe.fr platform and updated every month. It is not fixed: ADEME reviews manufacturers’ applications monthly, and new decrees will expand it.
In practice, before signing a quote, check that the proposed model actually appears on the list on the day of signature. That date determines your right to the enhanced bonus.
How to benefit without a mistake
This reform rewards well-prepared projects. A few useful reflexes:
- Choose the right equipment: switching to an air-to-water or water-to-water heat pump must be sized for your home. Our advice on choosing the right equipment remains your best starting point.
- Use an RGE-certified installer: equipment approval does not replace the installer’s qualification, which is essential for the aid.
- Plan for maintenance: a high-performing heat pump is a serviced one. Remember that maintenance of these units is regulated by law.
- Keep an eye on refrigerants: the rules are evolving fast, between the gradual phase-out of HFCs (F-Gas) and the rise of natural refrigerants such as R290.
If you are still hesitating between technologies, our overview of the reversible air-to-air heat pump sheds light on the uses: heating only, cooling, or both.
Frequently asked questions
When does the ×5 bonus take effect? On 1 September 2026, for quotes signed from that date with an approved model.
Which units are eligible? Only approved air-to-water and water-to-water heat pumps, replacing a coal, oil or gas boiler, in a primary residence.
Where can I check that a model is approved? On the official platform bonus-pac.ademe.fr, updated every month by ADEME.
Is my air-to-air air conditioning eligible? No. The “Coup de pouce chauffage” does not apply to air-to-air systems.
